This web site purpose is to give you the opportunity to learn more about the needs of the Haitian people and about GCA. Great Commission Alliance is a network of partners committed to a deliberate and innovative strategy to serve the Haitian people and transform their communities.
When we think of the Caribbean, we depicture crystal clear water and lagoons, pristine beaches, cruises and resort hotels. But not in Haiti! The island once known as “The Pearl of the Caribbean” has been plagued with social,economic & political collapse, as well medical, educational and environment disaster.
Located only an hour and a half from Miami by plane; Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and one of the poorest countries in the world. But through the generosity of businesses and people like you, Great Commission Alliance is there making a difference. Working with partners GCA has been implementing the Core Values designed to assist the Haitian People.
GCA's Core Values
GCA has been serving the Haitian community since 2000 through its four-prong mission of Equipping, Education, Empathy, and Escorting team of volunteers from the U.S.. There, GCA is currently helping 19 cities/villages in three significant ways (see the attached appendix for a list of the cities/villages): (1) training and mentoring indigenous men called to the ministry (pastors); (2) building churches, schools, and orphanages; and (3) escorting missionary teams of volunteers from the United States to assist in construction projects, medical needs, Vacation Bible School and pastoral training projects. As a result, these Haitian cities/villages now have pastors who are equipped to provide the stability and reliability needed so that a sense of renewal, a gift of knowledge, and a spirit of hope can emerge.
