Boyer Medical Clinic
A medical clinic will be built on the Boyer property site. A copy of the initial layout design is
attached. The medical clinic will ultimately have 2 floors. The bottom floor is designated for
outpatient medical care. GCA envisions building a second floor which will provide dental
services. The ultimate plan is to develop a GCA “medical group” so that all the orphans, school
children and their immediate family and GCA staff will be given ID cards for the clinic. As the
medical teams come down to provide medical services, those persons with the medical cards will
have access to the doctors, nurses and medicine.
The facility will also have a manned climate
controlled pharmacy. There is a 310 bed hospital being built 2.5 miles away by an organization
known as “Partners In Health.” GCA has begun negotiations with Partners in Health to make
sure that the medical clinics filing and document system is consistent with the hospital to help
ensure smooth transition or patients to the hospital, as necessary. The GCA medical clinic will
also provide open clinics and mobile clinics to service other groups in the surrounding
community. A team of over 20 medical staff and volunteers went to the site in the summer of
2010 and provided medical and dental treatment to over 500 people. A sponsor group from
Nebraska, which have been on over ten trips to Haiti with GCA, have agreed to be the main
sponsor of this project.
A sponsor group from Nebraska, The Jaffer Foundation, and the Memorial Healthcare System have been the main sponsors of this project.
