By this time, the world has heard about the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 evening. Let me be as clear as possible, this is a serious problem and the affects of this earthquake will haunt Haiti for months and years to come.
A GCA representative is schedule to be in Port au Prince on Friday to help synchronize the best access to give relief and resources. GCA is coordinating a container of supplies to be sent to Haiti as soon as the details can be worked out. At this time the best way to help is by making a contribution to the Earthquake Relief Fund
This earthquake has put the horrific conditions of Haiti on the front page of the international news. Using the plea of Nehemiah, "You see the bad situation they are in, that Haiti is desolate and its gates burned by fire.” GCA asks that you will “come, and help us rebuild Haiti so that they will no longer be a reproach." (adapted from Nehemiah 2.17).
We pray that you will have the same response as Nehemiah’s audience, “Then they said, ‘Let us arise and build.’ So they put their hands to the good work.” (Nehemiah 2.18).
